Gorden wins discus at TLC Meet

Titans finish 10th in team standings

Tristin Gorden won the discus and added a second-place finish in shot put to highlight the day for the SCC girls track and field team at the Twin Lakes Conference (TLC) Meet on May 6 at Sioux Central High School.

Gorden had a toss of 126-07 to win the discus, and a throw of 36-06.25 in the shot put to place second. Mya Ridgely set a personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 27.32 and finished in third place. Ridgely also finished second in the 100 meters.

Jim Yunek Relays – May 8
Mya Ridgely won a pair of events and Tristin Gorden finished first in the discus to help the SCC girls track and field team finish fifth at the Jim Yunek Relays on May 8.
Ridgely won the 100-meter dash in 12.96 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.99. Gorden’s throw of 122-00 earned her a win in the discus and she finished second in the shot put.

In the relay events, SCC placed third in the 4x100 and 4x200, and was fourth in the distance medley.
