65 years in the saddle
Top Rail Saddle Club host 65th annual rodeo
With parking spreading into the streets of Lake City, and a healthy walk required for those who didn’t show up early, the Top Rail Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds were the place to be last weekend. With events on both Saturday and Sunday night, the 65th annual Western Days Rodeo featured bucking broncos, barrel racing, cattle roping, and a very angry calf. Remembering where they came from, the Top Rail Saddle Club took a moment to honor Kay Streeter who was the first Western Days Rodeo Queen, along with the rest of the Rodeo Queens they have had throughout their 65 year run. With this year’s rodeo finished, the saddle club is getting ready for their next event. [Photos by Karl Jones/Calhoun County Phoenix]
