Next week is when the journey begins for the 2022 South Central Calhoun football team.

In a recent announcement by SCC head football coach Bryan Case and his staff, the annual SCC Titan Football Camp for seventh graders through high school seniors is set to take off from August 1 to August 5 at the SCC Football Practice Fields in Lake City.

"It's that time of year again that we need to start thinking about the upcoming football season," Case said in a letter to parents and supporters. "I want to take this time to personally invite you into our football family and the 2022 football program."

The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During that time, new and returning players will hone in on their footballing craft, from various skills to 7-on-7 contests.

There is no preregistration needed, and camp check-in will be held at 7:30 a.m. this coming Monday at the Titan Stadium Concession Stand and SCC High School Wellness Center.

There is also a cost for participating in the camp.

When the camp concludes on Friday, the Titan football program will prepare for its annual Toughman Contest, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on August 5 at the SCC Football Practice Fields in Lake City.

The annual Saturday Morning Blitz then takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on August 6.

On August 8, fall sports practices begin.

According to Case, regular football practice begins at 8:30 a.m. on August 8. Running from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., morning practices will be conducted until teacher in-services begin on August 18.

For any questions, you can contact Case at (712) 464-1016 or at (712) 210-7623.
