All next week, South Central Calhoun High School is celebrating its Homecoming festivities. This year, the theme is blast from the past, as the football team prepares to face off against the Manson-Northwest Webster Cougars on Friday.

Each class will have a theme for the week that is based off of a decade in history. The freshmen will be getting funky with the 70s, while sophomores get to celebrate the turn of the millennium again with the 2000s.

Juniors will find their groove with the 80s, while the seniors revisit the rapid advancement of the 90s.

Watch out throughout the week, as kids dress up with various themes.

On Movie Monday, the students will get to remember some classic films, as they dress up as various movie characters from their decade.

Tuesday is the day to turn up the radio, dressing up like bands, singers or songs from the past.

Way Back Wednesday will see students wearing the apparel that was common during their respective decades.

You can’t have a blast from the past without Throwback Thursday. Students are encouraged to wear apparel from Southern Cal and Rockwell City-Lytton that merged to form current day SCC.

Friday brings us back to the present with spirit day. Get dressed up for the big game with SCC’s school colors of purple and white.

Kicking things off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday is the fourth annual SCC Powder Puff Football games, located at the SCC Football Practice Field in Lake City.

Then, starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Homecoming Parade will begin. The route will start at SCC High School, head down Main Street and finish at the Downtown Square in Lake City.

Following this, will be a pep rally, skits and the coronation of the homecoming king and queen, starting at approximately 6:30 p.m. at Titan Stadium in Lake City.

The big game is at 7 p.m. on Friday, where Titans face off against the Cougars.

At 8 p.m. on Saturday, the homecoming dance will begin. There is a cost to enter, and snacks will be provided. For those who don’t feel like dancing, there will be various games to play.

Out of town/school dates must sign up in the SCC High School office by Friday. If they miss the signup, they will not be allowed to attend.
