Carroll County ends jail contract with Calhoun County

Calhoun County Sheriff Pat Riley has confirmed that as of Jan. 19, 2026, the county’s inmates will no longer be housed in Carroll County. Riley said he received a notice of contract termination from Carroll County Sheriff Ken Pingrey on Oct. 21.
