Calhoun County Public Health seeks volunteer drivers

One challenge of living in a rural area is a lack of public transportation. Calhoun County Public Health is seeking volunteer drivers to assist those who would otherwise lack a way to run errands or attend medical appointments.
Plea entered in multi-county butcher hog thefts
According to criminal complaints filed in Calhoun County, Iowa in June 2024, Corey Edward Goeders of Pocahontas stole butcher hogs over the course of several months and then sold them.

EMS deemed “essential service,” seeks additional funding
