Law Library dedicated in memory of Elna 'Valerie' Peterson: ‘Justice, Justice, You Shall Pursue’
The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors meeting on Nov. 18, 2025, began with a dedication ceremony. The courthouse’s law library was renamed the “Valerie Peterson Memorial Law Library,” in memory of Peterson, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in May 1971 in Manson, when she was eight years old.
