Wuebker keeps winning: SCC wrestler has busy summer on the mat

South Central Calhoun freshman Karson Wuebker continues to work on his craft and along the way he keeps piling up wins on the mat. Wuebker ended his freshman season with a fifth-place finish at state and began work on next season almost immediately.
A look back at Southern Cal football, 25 years later
It’s been 25 years since the 2000 Southern Cal football team won the school’s second state championship.  Many of those players and their families were back in Lake City, Iowa on June 28, 2025 for a reunion that the former Mustangs’ head coach Don Boulware helped organize. The idea, of course, was to remember the amazing 13-0 season which ended in the UNI-Dome as the top team in Class 1A. But for Coach Boulware, the event turned into something far more than remembering a championship season.
Gorden qualifies for USATF Nationals: SCC sophomore headed to Georgia
Tristin Gorden is headed to the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Championships in Savannah, Georgia on July 21-27, 2025. The South Central Calhoun sophomore earned her spot in the championship with a first-place finish in the hammer throw at the regionals held in Ames, Iowa.
Case catches first CFL touchdown
South Central Calhoun alum Kody Case finally got his chance, making his first start in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and he made the most of it. Case, who plays with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, caught his first CFL touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Calgary Stampeders, an 8-yard TD from Chris Streveler.
